1937 Ford XL-1 Coupe

For a number of years, enthusiasts and historians of NASCAR Modified racing have searched for the famous XL-1 (Experimental Lincoln Number One), a pink and white 1937 Ford Coupe that for close to 15 years during the 50s and 60s was the terror of many east coast Modified racers. During its racing lifetime, the car was owned by Pennsylvania native Don House and driven by a number of well-known drivers, including Don MacTavish, Wally Dallenbach, Lee Roy Yarbrough and Joe Kelly.

Ray acquired this piece of Modified history from former racer and car builder Ned Stebbins in 2011. The car has since been fully restored to its original racing condition and has taken its place among Ray’s highest-valued vintage race cars.
